As you may have heard, our local development team, which includes Alexandria Real Estate (property owner) and Washington Holdings (multifamily developer) are planning a new multifamily housing building for 200-250 units at West Harrison Street.

Proposed Alley Vacation:

The project includes a proposed alley vacation that would help ensure the best pedestrian experience for future residents, as well as for nearby neighbors, residents, and workers in Uptown.

As part of the alley vacation process, we will purchase the alleyway at fair market value, as well as create on-site public benefits. These benefits include:

• Creating a more efficient building and allowing for significantly more open space

• Ensuring continuous street frontage that increases pedestrian safety

• Providing a more walkable streetscape, aligning with the Uptown neighborhood

• Adding ~50 additional housing units
